I have been using TriB200P for a while now. Since our usage has increased of late, I wanted to change to a higher usage plan. That is when I realized that MTNL has some really great plans for Delhi customers but is screwing the Mumbai customers.I can give so many examples of plans but let me just give one or two examples.The plan that I am using TRIB200P allows 400MB download while a similar plan for Delhi allows 600 MB. Also they charge Delhi customers on Rs 50/- as rent for the CPE while it is Rs 80/- for us. So in other words, we get 400 MB for Rs 279/- while for Delhi it is 600 MB for Rs 249/-.The unlimited plan is the real height of discrimination. Delhi gets it for Rs 599/- while for us it is 2500/- bucks.They even have some superb combo plans for Delhi while we have one lousy one.What can we do to fight this discrimination?Remember that the rest of the country is serviced by BSNL which also has attractive plans. So effectively we Mumbai customers are the only ones screwed.

incidentally, I tried calling MTNL CC first and then got the number of the GM (broadband) at Prabhadevi. On that number I got some PA who wouldn't let me speak to the GM. I asked if there is some new scheme being introduced as there is a huge discrepancy between Mumbai and Delhi plans.She said all plans are as per the website and there is nothing new other than 849NU. I told her it doesn't suit me because the NU timing is inconvenient for me. I said I might shift to a different ISP. Then she told me that the unlimited plan costing 2499 is probably going to be brought down to 1000 but it will take some time as it is under discussion.That is some good news for all of us though still not as good as what they have in Delhi.

Airtel has some very good combo schemes that would work for me but unfortunately since the last two years they tell me they will reach my building "in a short while". Strange since they have been giving connections about 200 meters away since all that time.
Hathway also has decent schemes but said they wont give in my building yet.
Earlier Sify too had refused. I think the problem is the underworld connections of my cablewala. He is also providing some connection but I do not trust him at all.
For a long time, my requirement was met by MTNL's TriB200P and nobody had anything as economical. But that is no longer true as we are 4 users at home, 2 of whom are college going and need the internet for project work. My monthly usage ranges between 700 MB to 1 GB since the last 6 months.
For such usage, You Telecom at Rs 348/- all inclusive seems to be the best bet but I am really hoping that MTNL can offer us the Dehi plans.
They have a couple of fantastic plans that would work very well for me.

It may be old news but that is no reason for us to just shut up and accept it. I intend to highlight it till MTNL is embarrassed enough to give us a better deal.
