MTNL Slow speeds(Mumbai)

@Socrates. I tested with the link you specified. I tested using New york Server. And this is my result.

today the linesman comes with a comp. technician (cant really call him an engineer)

he opens the triband tariff page & shows me that for NU 849 minm speed is 256 kbps & maxm speed is upto 2 mbps

so if you are getting 400-450 kbps stay happy. :O

can u believe that? i was going to hit him on his head with my chair

anyways now they are going to send a fax to prabhadevi exchange to take care of the speed problem

I think you should write directly to the ED with a cc to GM broadband stating your experience about their staff is trying to pull the wool over customers eyes with their crappy stories.

I don't know why the speed is dropped low. It was okay before but the browsing speed sucks.

my linesman told me that a similar problem is being faced by a person living in the building opposite my house

but as i have mentioned earlier it cant be a problem of my line or the lines in our neighbourhood because i have tested it even in the exchange where ADSL internet on my telephone number gave very poor speed while the exchange fellow's telephone number gave very high speed (1.8 mbps)

Nope never. In fact getting a email from MTNL employees (not counting ones from helpdesk in pidgin english) should be considered a miracle :wall:.

@Rachit.Previously there was a line problem in my connection which was detected and fixed. Still the same issue.

got a call today from exchange asking if the problem is solved. i replied in negative. thats all. no improvements
