Agree the disconnection drama has begun in full earnest today but the MTNL register page comes on rather quickly

i don't surf the internet so much nowadays...i lost the charm...i would rather sleep than surf on 256 kbps...i want 2 mbps!!! :( :( :(so don't know about disconnections as well -_-

the adsl light switching off automatically and then turning on has started again today after a break of around one week ,is someone facing the same problem starting today.pls let me know coz then only i would feel that i am not alone on this ship called "torturing mtnl triband"

nope.. i havent faced it.. but then i am back to 256kbps... so SNR margin are again 30+ so small distubancesdont cause disconnection.

I have been reading about others facing problems. Thought I'd share my experiences as well.My triband connection drops every 20min on average ever since the 2Mbps upgrade and sometimes as often as every 10min. Did not have this problem when it was at 512kbps. Have called MTNL repeatedly for the past month and someone came last weekend to check the line at home. Said the line was fine and that it was an "ADSL problem" to be fixed by the ADSL team. The ADSL guys say it is a line problem! Someone actually called me and told me "if someone calls from MTNL, tell them it is a line problem!"I am just amazed at this whole experience. I will talk to someone senior at MTNL - am not even sure if they know that this is the reality of being an MTNL triband customer in Mumbai. What is the point of making a big deal about a 2Mbps upgrade when the experience is so bad!!Right now I am happy to go back to a 512kbps speed if that will solve the problem (any idea how i can do that?) or switch to someone else.

did u try the link to the solution on the first post of this thread?

Did not work for me.I have a Netgear DG834G which is set to multi-mode as default. SNR Margin for downstream fluctuates between 12-25. Aything below 18 or so and the connection is unstable. Have used the same modem/router for 5 years in London without any problems. At speeds upto 8Mbps.

That means Netgear is poor at holding onto connections at low SNR.I have the UTstar which remains connected till abt 6 SNR and another modem which i have (local chinese make) hangs onto connections as low as 3 SNR !!

i am not able to open this site "http://192.168.1.1/" is any one facing this same problem if yes the pls let me know if they have any solution to thiss problem coz there was this guy from mtnl who came to fix a problem at my place but was not able to open this page and he said he cant could do anything abt it .what a crapp technical engineer i swear.
