MTU Settings

Hi , I am suffering from slow surfing and some sites not opening issue . was working alright some days back . but a few days back the net was down for a few hours and then this whole problem started . Maybe the BSNL people changed something at their end . Currently i am using the PPPoE always on mode and am using a desktop and a laptop (wireless) . I have a D-Link 2640T wireless router plus modem . I am also using the OpenDNS servers . Now my questions are 1) should i change to bridge mode . will i have to make any changes for the wireless access .. other than configuring the dialer on my laptop 2) The MTU setting in my router home page is 1400 and have also set the MTU as 1400 in windows using TCPIPOptimizer ... should i change it to 1452 .. what is the setting you people have ? Back up all settings.
Problem : Setup seems OK except for some sites not opening
Question 1 : If you change to "Bridged" mode no effect on wireless settings.
Only use a good firewall and antivirus programs . ( the router also gives protection )
