Mumbai FM channels in Pune

And stupid Timesgroup complains when DNA uses hardball tactics to stop their circulation for a day. BTW, how is Timesgroup connected to Mirchi (ENIL)? So many Tier III towns now have more than 1 FM. Its the same Mumbai-step-brother treatment for Pune.

OT: Dont you think its high time, Mumbai was given statehood and Pune made the capital of Maharashtra? Then we can get some proper attention to improving the city.

For one, the Timesgroup owns Radio Mirchi (Enil : About Us - Company Profile).

Definitely, if Maharashtra was divided into 3 or maybe 4 parts, it will definitely improve everything. I know originally states were created based on linguistic lines, but as seen with Jharkhand or Chattisgarh or Uttarakhand, its not the primary factor for creating states.

We should have the following states :
1) Mumbai - Advantage is that the revenues generated by Mumbai will be received by Mumbai only. Similar to Delhi. This will be beneficial to the city.
2) Maharashtra - Capital Pune. With capital status, the overall infrastructure will improve as well as the allocation of funds.
3) Vidarbha - Capital Nagpur. Same as above
4) Marathwada - Capital Aurangabad. Will impove economy of the slightly laggard area of maharashtra.

Thanks for enlightening me on ENIL. I shd have done my hw before posting.Also, its good to hear from likeminded people about the division of Maharashtra into manageable chunks. I hope the GOI pushes this plan. I would even settle for 3 divisions instead of 4.

Offtopic: It is bad idea to divide the state, first of all, lots of people laid there lives for forming the state, and even still we are struggling to get Belgao. There can be some revenue sharing system by which money can be flown in all parts of state uniformly and genuine needy gets it without any political interference. And Maha govt. is looking to ditribute development by planning Pune-Nashik highway and links to Aurangabad. Then we have cargo hub in Nagpur, and even Nagpur is given sub-capital status (which other state had it till recently?)

The small antennae which is usually horizontally placed behind ur rearview mirror is a fm/am antenna,which can have the same gain or more of that top of external antenna.
then why don't car manufacturer's get rid of ugly external antennae? I am sure people would prefer it, as it would be (presumingly) hidden. But I have heard that reception is not great with internal antenna, for example ones used in Indica. Most of the cars still use external antennae.

LOL!wire wound on a rod-it is called ferrite core antenna for reception of AM esp MW.
I doubt anybody listens to AM radio these days. What I was referring to was the kind of antennae used in Swift, Verna or any of the Skoda cars. Are they beneficial for FM reception? or are those windings meant for something else? (AM as you say?)

fm radio in my car is pretty crap if i disconnect the antenna on the top of it... some cars now have the radio fitted as a film on the back glass just like the rear defogger i think...i do believe that an antenna if properly placed can in fact enhance the look of the car

^still ppl uses long aerial antenna's fitted in rear to "show off ":hysterical: I think ppl should see old Chevy Impala's and dodge's Antenna's -woohooo!too long :S

I missed the point about cricket because I am not a cricket fan myself...Another time when one might use AM is when you neither have your music with you nor FM coverage.Anyways, I was more interested to know about antennae
