I use D-Link 2730U on BSNL Broadband.

Since September, our modem (or maybe broadband connection) is facing lots of problems. At night the left most light becomes red and all the other lights are dead. But once in a while that light becomes green along with second last light. When this happens i have to enter 192.168.1.1 and configure the settings as if the modem is brand new. After that only the last light becomes green and i can access internet
..but only on wifi devices like laptops and phones
My PC which is connected to the modem does not get internet.

The Router problem doesn't end there, out of the blue the last light goes off and i have to enter 192.168.1.1 again and again and set it up again again its like a daily chore just to access the internet, and that too when my modem light is NOT RED .

Plz help

How do i configure my PC to get internet ??

How to stop my modem light to becomes RED and other light to become dead

How to make my modem remember settings so that i dnt have to reconfigure twice or thrice a day

There are some modem stats that can indicate line problem. But I am not well versed in that. If you post it here, other folks can comment on it.
Also if you have a pal who is willing to try out your modem on his line, you can give that a shot to know if it is the modem. To me it sounds like a hardware issue, especially since you are losing the settings. You can try a factory reset followed by a firmware upgrade of your modem. If your modem supports custom firmware like DD-WRT/Tomato, I would definitely suggest you flash it with that.

Hey ppl, i didnt respond because it started working. But yesterday, the problem started againCOnfigure the modem, and get internetAfter 20-30 mins, the modem light will become redI have to swtich off the modem and wait for 30 minsthen configure modem, and get internet
repeat cycleIm tired of this shit, i dont think its a modem problem because it was working so well for the past 2 weeks.
SOmething tells me it has to do with torrent downloading...maybe i am being penalized...or smthing

Login to your modem and you will find a statistics page, something that shows you line rate, SNR, Attenuation etc. Post a screenshot of that page here.
