My Internet keeps disconnect/connecting every 5 minutes

HiI have an unlimited 512 kbps MTNL broadband connection Mumbai. Since the past one month my internet connection automatically keeps disconnecting/connecting every 5 minutes. i have made end number of calls to customer care . MTNL says they'll send a repairman over but they never do.Even called up 1504 did troublehooting twice but till the problem remains the same.My Modem/Router details are as follows :- Sterlite SAM300AX Sr.no - 8ACZ123641 - 10/2008.Please Help !!!!

Which MTNL exchange do you belong to?

I belong to Thane (W) MTNL Exchange... if u can help me how do i go ahead ?

i guess i am having similiar problems, my router is unable to ping DNS and gateway after 5-10 mins, then it reconnects.

check your telephone line and please post "snr margin & line attenuation " , normally this kinda problem occur due to poor signal.

No. It's not a line problem as a few days ago it worked perfect and I also confirmed with the area manager he too said that it is because they are having problems with their gateways, and would be rectified in two days. Which I believe won't happen in at least a week.

no need to worry they are doing some thing in thane & mulund exchange sine last week. i m getting very slow speed. my friend unable to connect internet in late night till early morning 3AM -6AM i m from thane east .

Try two things1st - switch modulation to GDmt and disable everything else2nd - if that does not work...go to ur exchange and ask BB head to reduce ur UPLOAD SYNC rate from 1024 to 512..and if it still disconnects then to 256this problem is occuring to many because MTNL increased upload sync rate for all from 256 to 1024 directly without thinking abt side effects for distant people.

oh!!! thats why my upload sync rate always higher then download sync rate????????????????
