choice depends on needs. what umg1831 supports is not available in india till now or if availavle. then its too high.for future speeds, yes it would be a good buy. but then prices would decrease slowly in future, even if there is demand supply miss match.so decide and buy
 
Im using this umg 1831 for the past three monthe and ive got no problems so i'd advice you to buy it too :P

Good for you, my UMG1831 is sick with disconnections. I guess, I should go for a replacement.

Well, I recommend you for firmware update..I brought and updated the firmware...no problem since..its almost one and half month of experience.

Which were your old and new versions?
 
I have following versions:

Firmware : 11.831.05.01.420
Software: 16.001.06.01.500

Update your firmware its older. I hope your problem will get solved.

But before updation, search and read for safe updation.
 
Frankly speaking this modem of Huawei is unlocked by 3rd party and have some bad review like disconnecting after 1 hr, heating, etc etc ...At the same time 21Mbps 3G network is rare, even if it is there, operators cap speed at 8Mbps ! A 7.2Mbps modem is a good buy! Reliance is selling unlocked modem. 7.2Mbps ZTE/Huawei modem from Reliance is 2500 around!
