I've been on 2mbps plan since last 6 months n i've never got more than 1.76 mbps of speed...I checked all the values...SNR Margin and Line Attenuation..They are good enough...the ds/us rate is 2048/256 kbps..Where is the problem? can i rectify it myself...P.S :- I've also tried GDMT mode..the results are same

Actually there is no problem. 
I doubt if you can get more than what you are getting presently. The max I have seen on a 'upto 2Mbps' is 1.80Mbps. Getting 80% - 90% of the promised speed is considered good, even by international standards. I get between 1.73 - 1.75.
