After a really long time, I have been somewhat allowed to buy something on credit card, which which my parents would pay

I use an iPhone 11 which is like almost 6 years old now and last month, I had dropped my phone, and since then it got red green blue black lines on one side of the display

And the battery was replaced from a local shop, two years ago, which is now giving just two hours of screen on time

I was thinking to get an exchange offer and buy an iPhone 15 plus or the latest iPhone 16 as I’m getting ₹11,000 off on old phone from Amazon

On the other hand, I need to buy a gimbal for my camera I am looking for the DJI RS4 which would cost about 46,000

Without the gimbal I can’t show smooth videos or start getting professional clients

But then, having a bad phone hinders communication a lot especially when the screen lags because of the damage

I am really confused, Should I buy the Gimbal first or a new phone?

Oh, wait, one thing to add. My current phone was replaced with a original screen at an local store

Now both the display and battery are non-genuine as per Apple

So I guess Amazon, wouldn’t actually give me 11,000 off but reduce it to like 6000 something

i dont think thats a good idea since i need a reliable phone for video work

None meet the video capabilities of iPhone

Not to mention the difference in colors and dynamic range

Oof im super confused

i appreciate ur idea but Ronin SC is just way too old now
lacks vertical recording too

So you're a Creator, still/motion imagery.
For being a complete one man professional shop, ideation to screen, do you have all the gear?
How much do you still need to invest in work to take on any sort of a gig?
What were your gross profits FY2024? What is your approx savings/assets?
What day to day use case do you have for a phone/iPhone?

@gayad

So the thing is, I want to start making use of the professional camera i have which is the Sony A7 Mark 3 and as of now, I’m still starting out with some minor projects , especially with interior videography

A7III + 28-70 Kit lens + 50mm f1.8 7 artiasans for now

Where i later plan to add a 16mm ultra wide lens
But before that i should get a gimbal for ultra smooth and professional looking videos

But then i have a broken phone with lines on display ,display lags when touched too hard ,3 hour battery life with continuous use ,front earpiece not working basically a very poor quality of life with this phone

What day to day use case do you have for a phone/iPhone?
-well i did make reels for a shoe brand in brand all using my iPhone 11 from 2022 to mid 2023 and switched to camera after that

Then i made videos for Mumbai Metro One from my iPhone 11

So i do have a lot of video centric use

@Kyle Crane right.
For reference, I've had great jobs, now running a Product Design and CGI Viz agency.
I'd rather invest in 100 other things that are higher in priority than an iPhone.

Invest in your Gear.
You'd need atleast 300k for a PC. 200k+ for a Macbook. Audio Gear. Storage. Software licenses.
That's 700k of expenses already plus atleast 360k yearly operating costs. (Work+Life)
It's asinine to invest 100k on an iPhone, it adds no value whatsoever.
I work with advertising agencies, never come across anyone shooting/editing on a phone.

Asking favors from parents should be a last resort after being educated, and you should min-max the most out of that.
When you get out there, in a job or working on your own, you'll realize how much of a grind it is to be of actual value in society.
As a business, you're bankrupt enough to not being able to afford whats a basic junior salary & rn you have an investor that keeps bailing you out.
I'd just get a basic phone, earn the rest and build it all. Just to get the point across.
Challenge yourself, develop that ego.
Just my $0.02
