Hello everyone..Im from pune. Just bought the Huawei UMG1831. Trying to connect it with a bsnl 2g sim. It installed without any issue. But i still cant connect to the net.Do i have to create a new profile with bsnl details or something ??? Please help..... or you can even refer me to a step by step guide if it is available somewhere.....

Yes, you need to create profile with BSNl details. If you're using Mobile Partner software then : Go to Tools --> Options --> Profile Management --> New --> select static APN option & enter it as bsnlnet . This should work.
Ofcourse, you'll have to create a new profile with APN = bsnlnet and number = *99#

Hey...Huawei K4505 is one modem with 28.8Mbps speed.
But using this in pune with BSNL 3G is not possible because of error 619. (don't know what the heck that is)
And there is no place in Pune to buy these USB modems...get these on eBay, Amazon, or there are some sellers down in Bangalore-- 3Gmodemstore.com or something like that.
If you are successful in using UMG 1831 in Pune..do let me know please.

Im using Airtel 2G sim on Huawei UMG 1831 for now. Tried Mobile partner first but after every disconnection, it needed ejecting & re-introducing the modem to connect. Now, Im on T-mobile dialer, any other good dialer programme to use? Also, how to eject the modem properly? It gives 3 options & closing all takes lot of time!
