Net keeps on disconnecting

I again tried the same method and after 2-3 trials it worked. this time the wan ip address was different from previously assigned when net was not working. Enable DHCP in modem and give range 192.168.1.1 to say 192.168.1.20In computer Network/LAN Properties TCP/IP enableObtain Ip address automatically.

Always on mode was working fine until i picked the phone line. As soon as phone line was picked net got disconnected. After that when tried to open the home page of modem even that was not opening. Have to change the ip to manual to open that.:frown:

Do you use an ADSL splitter ? No parallel telephone lines BEFORE the ADSL splitter.

Just single line of phone is connected thru splitter. no parallel lines, in bridge mode net does not disconnect on picking this line thru splitter

Did you enable DHCP in the modem ?
Check modem Port and Phone Port connections are not interchanged. in the ADSL splitter.

Yes I enabled DHCP in modem, and lines in splitter are connected properly.

similar problem modem was found faulty. contact your exchange for replacement.
