i have no idea why they killed the character of coach and replaced it with a dumb black guy who fails to play the stereotype!

well yeah. it is one of the hundred shows that have tried to replicate the success formula of Friends.i saw season 1. probably would stay away from season 2.

Not all sitcoms take off right from the beginning. During the first half of the first season, most shows figure out what to do with their premise.

Parks and Recreation, for example, is the best comedy on air right now imo. It's first season was forgettable. It took off from the second season.

As for New Girl, I saw the first few episodes last season and gave up because it was NOT funny. As the season progressed, critics started to say good things about this show. So, I watched the first season before the beginning of the second season. It was still not very funny but I started to like the characters. It's still up and down in the second season. I thought the Christmas episode this week was excellent.

As for the coach getting replaced...Daman Wayans Jr. also acts in a sitcom called "Happy Endings" on ABC. At the end of the first season, the show was not sure to get renewed. So, he acted in the pilot of "New Girl." Luckily, Happy Endings got renewed and he had to continue with that show. So, the writers decided to replace the character of coach instead of rewriting the pilot of New Girl. I like Happy Endings.

As for Apartment 23, the first season was alright. It had potential and scope for improvement. Unfortunately, the second season has been lame. It will be canceled at the end of this season.

Personally, I don't like this TV Show. I don't find it funny either.As of now, The Big Bang Theory, HIMYM & That '70s Show are in my playlist. Downloading Homeland. Heard its good. And waiting for BBC Sherlock Season 4.

The problem with New Girl initially is that it focussed only on Zoey who is the star of the show. It didn't really work. Then, they shared focus on the entire ensemble. The show started to kinda click. For my money, Schmidt is the funniest of the lot. I like his character. Nick is annoying. Jess is well, Zoey. Cece (Hannah Simone) is hot. The show is still trying to figure out what to do with the Winston character. In the recent episodes, they paired Winston with Jess (not romantically but in the episodes). That has given something to do for Winston.

Right. I never saw Season 2 after watching some episodes of Season 1. It didn't have the humor which was expected. Also, sometimes Zoey over acts which gets annoying. I liked her in 500 Days of Summer.

Zoey can be an acquired taste.
