true. i hate when people leave comments on the broadband blog that xyz ISP counts surfing in downloading if that was not the case, i had surf pr0n all day long on a bsnl line with 512K speed

But this tiny difference is significant in terms of billing.

I surfed all day long this weekend.. and net usage is :

3/11/06 - 32 MB
3/12/06 - 50 MB

While if I am "downloading" then I will consume that amount in less then an hour.

that's fine shamit...that's what we all r discussing...if someone wants, browsing can also be equivalent to downloading...also, you're saying u browsed...what if the ISP says you downloaded and charges you for it, how can you prove them wrong??? so downloading and browsing r same as far as data download is concerned...

I have downloaded 25 gb last month and 15 gb in jan..I have not been overcharged a single rupee....The usage reports full usage including night...but while billing it is ignored..I think nobody shud worry and download !!!If anybody don believe me..i will scan my bill and post here along with usage report

Zabak, in your case, how you are tracking the actual usage then?
One way is copy paste the report in an excel sheet and add up the last colum.
