I have subscribed to Airtel AirFiber on October 19th and have been facing consistent speed issues every night from 12 AM to 6 AM. I have noticed that during these hours, the AirFiber outdoor CPE’s LED turns blue, indicating it’s running on a 4G network, whereas during the day, the LED turns green, meaning it’s on a 5G network, with no speed issues. I suspect that Airtel switches its BTS (Base Transceiver Station) to power-saving mode at night, which disables the 5G network and forces the connection to 4G, resulting in slower speeds.

I have reported this issue to Airtel on October 21st, but as of October 23rd, there’s been no resolution.

I am looking for feedback or to know if others are facing a similar problem.

I do agree with you. I am also not getting 5g in midnight.

This has been the case even before the launch of 5G. The timing may vary between cities and towers, though.

Now, as 5G is active, 5G spectrum may not get enough power to reach each household, letting 4g to take care of those connections.

Airtel doesn't switch off the power or 5g. It just puts the entire tower in some kind of power-saving mode that in turn might turn-off 5g for some people due to lack of signal strength. It all depends on the signal strength.
