My current SNR is 6.0 for Downstream. It rarely goes above 10. One technician told me that I'd have to downgrade my connection to 4 Mbps or 8 Mbps.

Right. I guess some compromises have to be made for 8mbps connectivity

Internal wiring isn't the issue. Get the wire from the dp box checked. Else, the dlc is pretty far away, which is unlikely.
