i have also open diagnostic page ....it says ADSL synchronization Fail...and other test Fail.....

Are you using a dialer to connect or BSNL told you,
you will get connected immediately.
Since you could see the Diagnostics page, Check in WAN page
whether your UserID is entered without @ bsnl.in if in PPPoE
mode.( If "Bridged" mode you have to use a Dialer )
Start Network LAn Properties TCP/IP properties.
Obtain IP address automatically Obtain DNS automatically Save.
TRY.

Dont' know about BSNL but Beetle splitter given by airtel has connections like this.

Single tele jack: for Phone Line, output from splitter to phone
Two Jack side: Upper one for Main Line, Lower one for Modem :)

UserID in 192.168.1.1 this site should be same as BSNL provided me ?
and whts dialer? ..i hv created new connection (without that ADSL light)...in new connection i have to used same username and password which BSNL provided me ?.....when i say connect it gives me Error 678

when i say connect it gives me Error 678
Seems BSNL did not preconfigure the modem/router for you.
1. 192.168.1.1 is your Modem's access IP. user admin password admin
.... 2.usually.Bsnl . Gives example : UserID abcd @bsnl.in password 123zxyw
.......You enter this in the dialer I presume , and get error message 678.
3....... You should also get a 14digit portal ID and password
............as password to check your usage. Ask the exchange.
4............ Did you see the BSNL link I gave ? and recheck the settings ?
feedback.
