30,000 for a phone which has no future? Belle OS? Any Android phone would do a better job. If one wants this idiotic phone for taking snaps, they are better off with a 1000D

Even Windows Phone 7.5 could have been considered as better option than Symbian. It's dead weight. Seriously what are they thinking? Are they deliberately trying to decrease their market share of smart phones? If they have this awesome photographic technology then why not combine it with future Lumia handsets?
Nokia's share prices are all-time low. Their smartphone market share is declining very fast. If this keeps happening then a day will surely come when companies like Microsoft will acquire Nokia. Currently it's just a rumor.
because they have been working on pureview tech for the last 4-5 years and switch to windows phone only happened a year ago? Nokia has already said that they would be ready with pureview for windows phone by later this year. this was more of a tech demonstration. and that is why it is getting a limited launch. only india and russia for now. unlikely to get an official launch in the US market.
The software technologies developed for PureView were based on Symbian. 808 is likely to remain the only Symbian based device to feature it in the future. Of course, they are working on incorporating the same tech on their Windows Phone devices for future. Otherwise, the whole effort goes to waste. Nokia would have an exceptional device later this year once they launch a WP phone with PureView. For now, they are stuck with Symbian. I guess, mobile camera tech would massively improved by the end of the year because Samsung, HTC and of course Apple would have to come up with their own similar tech to compete against Nokia.

I dont understand the future point of view. Do you keep the same phone for eternity?? Symbian will be getting updates for a couple of years.. In retrospect my Galaxy s isnt getting ics so effectively it died in 15 months and has "no future"..
well. you cannot ignore the issues with symbian related to third party support. of course there are apps for all major services out there but few of them are official and do not feature all the capabilities of similar apps for android and ios and even windows phone. if you are happy with the limited app support, symbian should be fine for you. for someone like me, symbian is pretty much useless because of my like for a bunch of google services and apps.
