I think its blackberry and bing which are merging for map offering. Nokia ia already having very high quality map application available. Unlike the S40, S^3 OS Nokia Handsets is having more powerfull GPS and Maps can be downloaded in Handset itself. This is one of the great feature of Latest Nokia Map that one Can use it offline without any coverage. I don't think any other Handset is having this kind of facility ..

errm. mapmyindia and tons of other services offer offline maps.

google maps on android now allows you to cache maps offline.

and blackberry is i think switching to bing maps for their future phones.

they do not have their own map service. they currently use google's.

Nokia and bing partnership is expected to be deeper. A Nokia Powered Bing Maps…shocking? Not so much | LiveSide.net

:fool: never used mapmyindia and for android may be google would be offering offline cache, but not for symbians and also Google map when viewed on Nokia maps looks pitiful.Blackberry yes have its map service, but its so slow and GUI is so mermerised that I never ever tried to use in 2 yrs. But a combination of Blackberry GPS and Google map is awesome and very precise but again it sould be online.I wish Nokia stick to its own Map and not put his nose with BING. I just hate bing !!

Nokia maps caters to nokia phones. bing would soon cater to blackberrys. google caters to androids. Apple is reportedly working on their own mapping platform for iOS. for now google caters to iOS.

Any idea how do I use the map service on my Nokia 5800 touch phone ? I have 3G with Vodafone Mobile Connect enabled. I'm sorry if this is too foolish of a question. But any help would be appreciated !
