Not able to configure automatic IP setting

Hi guys,I am not able to configure my UTSTAR 300r modem in "Obtain IP address automatically" mode.If I select that option in TCP/IP properties, the connection tries for sometime saying "Auquiring IP address" and after sometime it says "Limited or no connectivity" and I am not able to browse the internet.Any idea what might be causing the problem.Thank you all for your help.

1.open 192.168.1.1/main.html id admin password utstar or admin
Check DIAGNOSTICS PAGE.

2.Try 192.168.1.3 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.1
dns 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222 TCP/IP in computer.

3 Start/run cmd ipconfig what do you get ?
should be 192.168.1.x( 3 to 20)
subnet 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway 192/168.1.1

4. Start run cmd ping 192.168.1.1
5. For future reference also.

Hi,I want the modem to be configured automatically..If I try giving the IP address manually it works, but i want IP address to be assigned automatically.Thanks for your help

What is the Ip address you want to configure in the modem automatically ?
Is it a static IP ? or 59.92.32.1
When system is connected to Internet normally
start/run cmd netstat find the IP changing everytime you connect/reconnect.

mine now 59.92.26.193 city New Delhi india

OKAY. The following thread should interest you. I have two ISP,s programmed in same modem.If you have entered an IP address in the modem delete it and select auto.

I have posted my problem when i select Auto... It tries and gives me "Limited or no connectivity" error.I have also tried enabling DHCP

What is your IP Now ? Better reset the modem and follow instructions given in the web site. What is the result of ipconfig ping netstat and diagnostics page of modem ?

Also let me know how to see the diagnostics page of the modem...

I tried pinging google but it didn work out. I got "Response time out error"

I didn try netstat and ipconfig yet.. I shall try that and let you know
