Not et all excited about airtel's 3G service launch

excellent strategy to get stuck with an operator that has a very unpredictable track record!

Stuck with an operator? MNP is coming man... :)

when you pay 4200 for six months, you would not discard that connection midway right? and MNP still requires you to stay with a mobile operator for 3 months (it was supposed to be six months but apparently someone was sensible enough to reduce the time period).

Midway or halfway watever , as of now 3G will be affordable only from bsnl , like u have said in the earlier post double standards are still there in bsnl plans among the wireless and wired !
as of now there isnt any FUP in 3G , there can be one after 6 months or so , not sure though , but they offered and offering EVDO as unlimited till now when other private players never offered such plans , tata photon is unlimited but only after a data cap .

none of the private players have done or talk about competitive pricing for 3G , there will be none i think
so whether is best or worst , bsnl will be the internet backbone of indie :D

even if bsnl comes with an FUP for 3G am sure it wont be as worst as other private players !

well the thing is that customers do not get to complain in terms of 3G about speed compared to their landlines. i mean if your landline is giving you terrible speeds, you do have a point in complaining about that. in case of 3G, bsnl would simply say that you are in a week signal area etc etc. there is no minimum guaranteed speeds. so i do not think the problem would become so big in the near future. more customers would result in poor quality of service and in the end, the cheap price would just turn into a joke.

@itsme you are true.docomo has real pathetic plans, after fair usage speed goes down to 256kbps and later 10 kbps whats the use of 10kbps?

guys dont get impatient about Airtel 3G launch. let airtel guys take their own time to prepare themselves for quality services. Mr. docomo has already failed to impress customer. first launch among pvt players has certainly proved disaster for docomo, reason being too much confident on their 3G ready NSN network and less no. of switches at each site. airtel knows the outbreak of services once launched, so they want to be on safer side rather than no. 1 on network launch list. ultimatly the quality matters and not launching sequence. also i have seen Airtel 3G signals have been full all across bangalore. very strange for a new service but i dont about others views. guys pls refer your comments on signals strenght.
