not getting router settings for UTSTAR 300R2U ADSL2+ router

hi friends, i have utstar 300r2u ADSL2+ router. i got it on feb 2008. my dynamic ip address always stars from 117.x.x.x and i connect through dial up. i am not able to get any settings page of router on IE, Firefox etc.i tried 192.168.0.1, 192.168.1.1, 192.168.0.1/main.html and 192.168.1.1/home.html.i also tried the unique ip address which is assigned to my router, but it asks for password and admin is not working as username and password.i read in other posts that all others are getting settings page.why i don't get any settings page.the thing i am getting is that the page can't be displayed.is there anyother way to access the settings page please help me.i am trying to access the settings page from 4 months.anyone also facing the same problem.please help me to solve this problem

BSNL Broadband user since 7th feb 2008.
1. START/NETWORK / LOCAL AREA CONNECTIONS/Status
Support. See the default gateway. That is your modem's IP.
Or
2. Start/ RUn type cmd type ipconfig/all see the default gateway.
3. IN IE clear all temp files.
type the address obtained above. ID admin password usually admin or 1234 or utstar. or "Blank" ( do not enter any.)
4.Post error message if modem page does not open.
5. Or reset the modem to factory settings and try 192.168.1.1 admin admin
6 ( Did you change the ID or password earlier ? for the modem?)

hi friends thanks for reply.
i tried what u said. but the passwords you said is not working. when i enter the IP address of my router to brouser it changes to OpenDNS (router ip address is starting from 169.254.x.x. you told me to check the default gateway in ipconfig/all but it shows the default gateway which is actually a dynamic address, which changes everytime i connect to the net.
answer to your second question no i haven't changed the router password i wanted to but its not opening from the beginning. i don't want to reset its settings bec i don't know anything about its settings. if something goes wrong then what will i do i have to call bsnl guys and they will take a week to come.
please is there anyother way to solve this problem.
oh! by the way when i tried all the passwords it says
