ODC newbie Help

hey guys, one of my friends told me about DC++/ODC. I'm really excited about it and i downloaded ODC, but i'm completely lost on how to use it . some one please give me some more information about how to use ODC. I'm on Exatt Net / Globcast in Mulund(East). Thanks a lot in advance...

You'll need to get hold of your local Hub's(if anyone is hosting one) IP address first & check their connecting rules.Then all you'll need to do is share stuff from ODC & connect to them & download at LAN speeds.This could only be done if there are active hubs in your area.If you don't understand the concept of LAN sharing then let me know.Will explain it to you.

hi I stay @ malad Evershine and i am just not able to use dc++ for local hubz. I can connect to public hubs but tatz @ the snail speed.

my friend is @ dahisar and he gets amazing speed from those local hubz.

have tried everything like..:wall:

1. setting ip in tcp/ip : 169.254.xx.xx
2. using quick connect and puting the hubs ip and portname.
3. i can also use hamachi on public servers.
4. have sygate firewal but have enabled explicit rules to allow use to dc++
5. can see 5 local users , can ping them.
6. Have used borgchat and can c those 4 users but they appear greayed out.
7. can ping them thry borgchat.
8. my friend assisted me online but we cant get to no where

Is it that i am @ malad and he is @ Dahisar the reason for no successful connection

A 169.xxx.xxx.xxx is an Automatic Private IP address, i.e your computer(XP) failed to acquire a valid DHCP IP address, with such IPs communications will not be possible unless for some reason all other IPs are on this range(can't be), the ones you see too haven't successfully got their DHCP IPs as well. I suggest you look into this.

i have already created hub
name of hub is superhub
duration is 24*7
can you tell me how you made the connection from mald to dahisar
if u are not able to connect this hub then reply me on [email protected]
