i am pretty sure rang de basanti and dilwale dulhaniya were songs in older movies.

Ahh didn't know that, i have watched Rang De Basanti it did have a title themed song. I thought this was something of a new trend where Bollywood simply ran out of creative titles and started using song lyrics as title for movies.
