Also, every card can update their TnCs at their wish, willy nilly. You can't do shit.
I faced sudden change in earning of JPmiles with ICICI premium cards. Hdfc changed their redemption rules for one of their cards some years ago.
Big deal. Don't like it, cancel it.

But you can't cancel it for six months. During which they can change anything and you are forced to comply.

Any card can do that. What they can't do is to put you in a perpetual payment system (either spend X amount in a year or cancel the card by paying us Y amount) - since that's not the MITC you agreed to.
Drop them an email that you would like to cancel the card if they introduce any yearly fee.
The onus is on them to reply with acceptance or rejection.
During my AMEX application, I mailed them something similar as their yearly charge is 10k. The guy made me email their CC and a bunch of other Amex peeps that they should consult me before charging 10k for the card next year since I would prefer to get the fee scraped and not use their golf service (something to that effect. It's been some months).
If the terms change to something atrocious, contact the Ombudsman. Banking ombudsman, unlike telco ones, are super active since it's a financial matter.
You are not signing away your soul. Everything said and done, India has strong financial regulations. Just be aware.

i have had a bunch of basic and mid-range credit cards over the last 10-15 years. sure there are policy changes every couple of years. but not multiple times in a matter of weeks. and i am usually informed of these changes through email/sms.

Did they even email/text existing users of their card about the six-month update? or updated them of these terms of use changes through an in-app notification? (i can't tell because i am not a user or have the app installed)

I don't know, since from the time I've installed their app, the same TnC has prevailed.
I haven't seen any change, and just to be sure, have taken screenshots of their MITC and RP pages.
If they change terms and don't inform you (specially if major changes happen), hit the Ombudsman. They will have to justify their actions.

Everything is understandable, but updating the terms without even mentioning that they have recently updated it, is a bit unprofessional. I wonder if they even alerted their customers about the change or not.

I complained to banking ombudsman about the failure of OBC bank to duly inform me about the minimum balance change, and the bank manager called me to apologise and refunded any charges they levied in the mean time.

We cannot expect the same here.

Have anyone tried their call center to see how good it is? Or it's completely app based? 😛

@Samuel You should expect the same since IDFC is the banking partner, and they just can't ignore a query from Ombudsman. It's not no name banking.
I agree that they should be forthcoming with their changes, but will comment further once I've used them for a year or so.
Maybe teething issues since frontend is by a different company. Let's see how it progresses in some month.
I wonder how much are they losing my issuing free metal cards to approved cardholders. Not to mention decent RP.
My only major concern is no clarity on fraudulent transactions. I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't covered since it's a no frills basic free card. Just gotta be careful.

I received an email that they need to verify my communication address, because their system felt that the two (residential and communication) are different. And they want me to fill a letter confirming the communication address and provide an address proof.

I reverted over email that both the addresses are same and sent them an address proof. And my email opened a ticket. Lol

I'm assuming they provide support via email only or primarily.

@alekhkhanna

I use Citi for international transactions. The best experience so far.

@Samuel I have used ICICI, Axis, HDFC and recently AMEX for international transactions. Now OneCard. Didn't find any major differences tbh, only that the new one has lower forex, and that's preferred.

What do you mean by the best experience ? Isnt it just putting the numbers online or swiping a card ?
An experience is what awaits you when you hold and push a metal card on the table. :p

Not kidding when I say I've been using OC more since I actually want to use it more. Just great premium handfeel. It's a fucking demonic card. 🤣
