Online Stores that ship to India and accept payment in USD

Okay so I am looking to buy an iPad 2 32 Gb (3G + WiFi). Sadly I don't have any contacts/friends in countries where the iPad is sold for cheap prices (US, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia) etc. So what are my options, any way by which I can get it for a price cheaper than what it is being sold in India?

Same here .. looking to get an ipad2 for gifting ... can it be bought on ebay US and shipped to India via Aramex Shop N Ship ... @manu1991 any inputs much appreciated .. BTW how much is the custom duty on Tablets ?

I don't have any idea about customs. The price for that iPad model is 42k INR in India, but in the countries mentioned in my previous post its around 32k INR. Which makes it a nice 10k of savings, pretty big IMO. If there is no reliable/risk-free way, I would prefer buying from a local store in India.

Heard that Customs Duty is 15% on Tablets. So you will end up paying approx Rs 4,800. Plus Customs guys may not accept your import invoice price for ipad and put their own valuation. In that case it will be even more. Add shipping cost of approx $ 30-40 charged by international sellers for shipping to india. So your 10K difference can get really insignificant in a jiffy.

right. it would be hard to deal with customs who are known to be annoying bitches. hopefully imported ipad units would have local warranty support. :|

Doh .. there goes the cheaper iPad .. thx for the info guys ... will probably use the shop n ship for getting some cosmetics ... wifey would be happy :stung:

All Apple products have a worldwide warranty so that is not an issue (unless Apple has not officially launched the product in that country). So I guess the conclusion is either make friends in the US or pay up?

well Yeah I've got friends and relatives in US .. but they always dont travel when you want a product .. :)

I preordered Black ops from playasia with overnight shipping.I received the itemn after 2 days of release but the courier guy said I have to pay like 1200 tax, I asked him to show the papers and stuff, there were shitloads of duties, STB, RTB, RTX, JTX, WTF??!!Well, I ended up playing the game which costed me double the price. :/

Well why would you preorder a physical disc from a foreign country when you could've easily pre-ordered it digitally on Steam?

umm..abt friends and relatives in US/other countries.. on more than one occasion i have seen such strenuous checking by customs guys at the new intl terminal at Delhi..almost every passenger had to open his suitcase and get it examined while walking thru the green channel..looks like they have become more proactive at the new terminal
