Well why would you preorder a physical disc from a foreign country when you could've easily pre-ordered it digitally on Steam?

umm..abt friends and relatives in US/other countries.. on more than one occasion i have seen such strenuous checking by customs guys at the new intl terminal at Delhi..almost every passenger had to open his suitcase and get it examined while walking thru the green channel..looks like they have become more proactive at the new terminal
AFAIK you are allowed to carry one laptop/tablet without paying any duty. or maybe it was something else.

i had got my ipad from the US only. the guy wasn't checked though.

i was told that they allow two laptops. the excuse is... one is given to you by your company (if you can show that you are employed) and another one is your own for personal use.

yes. what i meant was you can buy one laptop in addition to the one you are carrying.

the only problem here is the obscene price difference in indian and american prices. the difference is much less these days. but was massive one just a couple of years ago.

Ok guys, good news, I talked to dad and I think I've found somebody in the US who can buy me an iPad and bring it for me to India.

Now I want to get the 32 GB Wifi + 3G one, and I have a couple of questions.

1) Is the iPad 2 sold unlocked in the US? I know it is sold unlocked in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

2) There are 2 versions:



[*]Wi-Fi + 3G model: UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
[*]Wi-Fi + 3G for Verizon model: CDMA EV-DO Rev. A (800, 1900 MHz)
[/list]Which one do I get, considering the sketchy 3G coverage here in India? Any comments about the Tata/Reliance CDMA/EV-DO coverage in Delhi? Finally, pros and cons for both AT&T version as well as Verizon version.
