This is not OpenDNS bug actually. If your ISP is assigning you dynamic IP and assume that IP you were assigned for current session was earlier assigned to another OpenDNS customer and this customer (likely to be some company) has opted for blocking microsoft.com in their OpenDNS preference.Since OpenDNS doesnt know that IP is now assigned to other person i.e you, the same policy still applies on that IPTo avoid this either create OpenDNS account with Dynamic IP updater OR disconnect and reconnect (so u get new IP)

right. :D it is funny when you end up on an IP with restricted preconfigured policies.

Don't know if anyone of you are facing such similar issue. i was using opendns but today i just came across that i am not using opendns:whistle:

1. Tried the Welcome to OpenDNS!

2. My Network settings.

3. Using Opendns updater

4. Router details.

Can anyone tell me why am i facing such an issue?

It is not necessary to add open dns ip's in your router, just the pc's lan adapter will do.

I beg to differ. I have a D-Link 502T modem in which, not only do have to enter the DNS entries but also change the 'DNS selection entry' to 'Use user discovered DNS server only'. But krish_88 is not using a D-Link modem. krish__88 what does that option 'DNS relay selection' do? Please check in the Help section.

@godric. You are not understanding my issue. The issue is not adding dns entries onto my router or not. The problem is i am not able to use Opendns ips. You can see that i have already added opendns to the lan adapter.@SocratesDNS Settings The DNS Configuration allows the user to set the configuration of DNS relay. DNS relay selection - Enable or Disable DNS relay function.Preferred DNS server - Enter the primary DNS server IP address.Alternate DNS server - Enter the secondary DNS server IP address.

As a strange coincidence since the past two days whenever I put OpenDNS DNS address in my modem's DNS entries or in my Dial-up connection I'm unable to login. It gives me an error:Error718 :The connection was terminated because the remote computer did not respond in a timely manner.I'm forced to use MTNL's DNS servers :@. I don't know if MTNL is blocking OpenDNS server or something like that.
