I'm using default Airtel DNS. Should I migrate to OpenDNS? OpenDNS is kinda slow for popular sites like google.com because of latency problem.

opendns cud be slow for google because it redirects google traffic to own servers but otherwise DNS lookups shud mostly be faster.

Another substitute is DNS Advantage. The trouble which to choose as both give high latency between 260 - 280+ ms.

OpenDNS is very popular. Plus this millisecond difference doesnt make much difference. u will hardly save 10 seconds in a day.

opendns is much better than mtnl given dns ips and yes its safe.

Just a tip: Whenever some site is not opening for you, you can check whether the site is down or its a problem with your ISP; through:-
