OpenDNS gives u option if u dont want it to hijack the URL bar, simply disable shortcuts in opendns account.

for that i would have to use their 'application' that feeds my latest IP to their servers. considering i do not have a static ip.

i also do not have to worry about someone else's opendns setting messing up my own connection (in case i get connected to an IP configured with restricted opendns settings).

LOL, u have made firm decision to dislike opendns just because u dont want its features. i think no DNS provides as much flexibility as OpenDNS

i am just happy to use a service that remains silent. as it should. i am not running a network where i need options to control DNS server settings. just excited. nothing else.

Look at the comment on that same page...exactly what i said. My feelings of Google turning real evil are becoming stronger and stronger.

Scary… I guess logging search data isn’t enough? Now they’ll know every site you visit. Hope people are smart enough to realize this is just an attempt to get more of your data – and not just a benevolent service offered by almighty Google.

One more smart and ON-PURPOSE use of misleading words. Google really has bad intentions.

Introduction to Google Public DNS
Google Public DNS never blocks, filters, or redirects users, unlike some open resolvers and ISPs.

It calls itself as Public DNS but in statements instead of saying "some public DNS or public resolvers" its using words "open DNS or open resolver"

I think OpenDNS can sue Google for this for sure. I am sure OpenDNS will ask google to change the words.
