I was thinking of same, i.e. to disable and switch to Google cloud for a year. But every year I would have to reconfigure the VM and also transfer some data. Now since Oracle cloud is lifetime free (hopefully they wont change policy), once configured, I can simply forget.

I wasnt even charged for some unknown reason.

@Rehan Kumar - are you related to Oracle cloud?
No, i am not related to them in any way

Meh, Okay. It's not all that great for my use case. i.e. A DoT/DoH server.

Compute instances only get 1/8 of an "oracle" cpu and 1gb ram which is not great since I want lower latencies. Weak processor like this is going to make it worse.
The always free Load balancer can only do 10mbit while the free tier instances can do 480mbit up/down. So, Load balancer is also not all that useful.

I'll figure out some thing else I can host there. :)

I am also not sure how exactly they divide the cores, but you do get 2 threads in those free VMs (mostly AMD epyc based)
Maybe it's the amount of time your processor can utilize full resources.
