Patchy internet after connecting Deco mesh to Airtel Router

I am using Airtel Xstream broadband with the Nokia 2425g ISP router. I have applied and received static ip and one of the ports (LAN 4) is in the bridge mode. After I connect my TP-Link mesh router to the port, the internet becomes very irregular with dropped packets seen using Ping tests. The Deco node is configured as a router with internet settings using static IP assigned to me, and standard subnet mask/gateway etc. As a test, if I disconnect deco from the ISP router, and connect directly to the ISP wifi, the network is stable and with full bandwidth. So it appears that connecting deco mesh causes some issue. Please let me know if I am setting some wrong configuration.

Can you check that DHCP SERVER is enabled in ONLY ONE place, either the Airtel device or your Deco device but NOT BOTH if that helps?

Other thing to try is in the Deco app advanced wifi settings, scan for network health (this changes the wifi channels) to reduce interference from other people's wifi or your own other wifi signal from the Airtel device?

The DHCP on Airtel Nokia router is enabled but cannot be disabled. The DHCP on deco mesh is enabled as all the devices in my house are connected to the mesh and get ip addrs assigned by it. The ranges are different for both though 192.168.1.xxx on Airtel and 192.168.68.xxx on deco mesh.
I have done scanning network health already, looks like there is no interference.
