@mikrotik afaik only netbanking, few banks debit cards and cheques are the option to pay income tax. Never saw a credit card option on income tax website.
CC gateway charges have reduced a lot for high volume customers. They go as low as 0.4%.
Plus govt could charge 1% or even 2% as the transaction fee. There are many articles out there that says the new portal will support upi and credit card but don't see it anywhere.

Make Payment Online User Manual
The Make Payment Offline service is available to all users of the e-Filing portal. With this service, you can make tax payment offline by paying over the counter (through cash / cheque / Demand Draft) or through RTGS / NEFT (pre-login or post-login).

I used my CC on Chennai Metro counter for recharge & used CC to pay Water tax. In both cases they(govt agency) charged me 2% more which you can see only in CC bill. In both cases they didn't mention anywhere regarding extra charges
