i think it's worse. money is automatically sent to the connected bank account. you can of course not use the funds in your paypal accounts to make payments. payments have to be made from your savings bank account or credit card. this way, all the revenues are accounted for in your income and as a result has to be shown in income tax return. :D this was the primary reason i got rid of my paypal account. :P

MediaNama has reported that PayPal has now received the required permissions to operate as a payment processor in the Indian market.

I am not sure how this would change things apart from local merchants might be able to use PayPal to accept payments (again?).

PayPal Receives Approval For Domestic Payments In India - MediaNama

According to an internal e-mail sent by PayPal India GM, PayPal is now authorised to offer domestic payment processing services in India, and that the solution can be offered for online, mobile, offline (PayPal Here), for all industries as permitted by law.

What I would be interested in would be their mobile payment platform which is similar to Square.

If this new development can result in them launching this product in India, it could make things interesting.

I purchased through Paypal and it cost me Rs 2065.69 whereas I got an Invoice of Rs 1999

paypal is known to charge much more than the transactional rate. i would never pick it over other payment gateways.

Why did they charge extra? I have never used Paypal so don't have any idea.

probably coz they added their own fees to the final price. or maybe they processed it by converting INR to USD at their own stupid rates.

Actually I never had such extra charging experience. Till now its always worked accurate. Should I complain or leave it ??

NYSE is also closed today, just wondering will PayPal takes BSE or NYSE dollar rupee rates?
