A hacking group claims to have breached India's CNN-News18 news site to use it to refute claims that they hacked Paytm Mall earlier this week, BleepingComputer has learned.In their quest to refute claims that they had hacked PayTM.

Maybe they bulk responded the same tweet to tweets saying Paytm and not Paytm Mall got hacked. Idiots.

So they mean to say that Paytm was not breached but kind of agreed that it was breached. Because they did not maintain separate accounts. So if paytm mall was breached, paytm was breached as well.

In August 2020, the Indian payment provider Paytm was reported as having suffered a data breach and subsequent ransom demand, after which the data was circulated publicly. Although Paytm denied the breach at the time, verification with impacted HIBP subscribers showed their data to be accurate and that they were indeed users of the platform. The impacted data covered 3.4M unique email addresses along with names, phone numbers, genders, dates of birth, income levels and previous purchases.

Seems Paytm is blatantly lying.

They also seemed to have removed the phone number/email+password login from their website.
