Hey Guyzzzz,I am planning to buy a new tablet having a budget of about Rs.25,000. Can u'll guyzz please suggest me something new in the market?????

Yes, because Nexus 7 is not officially launched in India yet. You need to ask someone to get it & send it across or buy from resellers who will add their margin as well.

^^
Wow you really dig this kinda stuff pretty well.. :|

I actually think there are others in forum, who are more spot on with both knowledge & prices across the board. But yes, I do read a bit & follow certain blogs which help me be aware of atleast of some of the info & deals.

I too was pretty confused on buying a tablet. I was thinking of Android & Ipad 2 was also in radar. But I was also looking at 15k price point. When Playbook slashed to under 15k. I felt it was easily worth it because of several factors like Android Apps support(turned out ok-ish), a different UI from the Apple/Android thing etc, I also had thought in terms of future use of getting a low-end Blackberry phone so you can use it as a remote & hook it to up a HDTV, send SMS from tablet etc. There are several shortcomings still, but for couch surfing, basic games & stuff its value for money if you ask me

Unable to make up my mind whether to go for an Indian android tablet or the blackberry playbook. The primary usage will be as an ereader to read epub and pdf files. Would you still recommend the playbook?16gb models are discontinued, and tough to find in decent online shopping sites. Ebay has pricier options, saholic.com hasgreat prices but has bad reviews...

The built in pdf reader & a couple of free epub readers are average, but you have some Android pdf readers which work fine in Playbook (In Playbook Version 2.1 it feels better, but yet to be officially out, I am using the beta). Same goes for epub reader, there are paid ones that I have not tried. I would say if Nexus 7 is coming and you are willing to wait then you can go for that. If the reasons I mentioned before, BB phone as a remote, a different UI etc are nothing major, you can very well consider other Android brands. Keep in mind, at the time I bought the playbook - Olivepad was the only one having a tablet at 15k. Things are changed now with so many options to choose from. If you are not ok with Micromax & co, then Playbook or Nexus is my next suggestion. If you are ok with them, then you can go for them, but like some say, nobody can confirm about their reliability, but thats simply because they havent been in the market long enough to judge them. Also, quality-wise Blackberry would obviously be way ahead of the Micromax & the like. Even better than Samsung.

Think of features you want & need. That should filter a few. Come up with a strict upper limit for your budget. That should filter a few. Then list down whats the different & extra among the ones that remain & which you would care more. Like 3G, 10", display, HDMI, USB OTG, Blackberry Bridge/Remote. For example, we had vinay_kumar going for a Flytouch or something because of the LAN port. So, similarly think what you want. Mine was basic surfing including support for Flash. Was interested in Android. But BB came with a promise of Android support & other stuff which I liked to hear. But price-wise was not keen on it - It was 25 or something then. 50% slash did the trick for me then.

Will wait till the nexus 7 8gb is launched in India. Another couple of months wait won't be much of a problem.Micromax has a lot of battery issues with the Funbook, and rumor has it that it has stopped manufacturing the P300 (no way to confirm).I have yet to see the gadget in person though. Perhaps a browse thru one of the stores will help cement my decision to go for a branded hardware player like blackberry or Asus. How good are the side loaded apps on BB Playbook? My broker offers an android version of the trading app. This could work great on a nexus 7 (wifi) but not so sure whether it will work great on the playbook (emulation hassles).
