Samsung Galaxy Tab 730 has also dropped to 22k this week. I know its above budget as specs are a bit old & it has only Honeycomb. But you can have a look to see if it interests you.

Micromax specs look good for that price. But ..its micromax. Its after sales service is horrible. But on the other hand, google's after sales service is infamous too

google does not sell products directly in the indian market. so there is no point of having any official support. in usa, google usually replaces the product instead of repairing them. their support program is pretty similar to Apple considering they do not have repair centers around the country. this is probably the only reason why google play store is not selling hardware here in india and the rest of the world. you can sell it easily, providing support is the problem area. if this product is launched in india, Asus would probably be handling sales and support. remains to be seen if it would feature the asus' edition of android or google's.

As long as they don't fiddle with the hardware and its still compatible with the google editions's roms, I'd be happy. I think this would become the HD2 of tablets in terms of ROM support.

In that price range, 10" tablets are very less. So unless you want to checkout the chinese stuff some folks mentioned below, this looks the best bet. Personally, I am not too sure of buying from such sites, so you will need to research from further before looking in these areas.
