I have not seen any such advertisement from airtel nor received any extra validity for downtime.

While there is no such thing as 2 hour for 1 day of validity.
If your service is down for more than 24 hours, you can call their accounts team (post the bill has been generated for the affected month and your support ticket(s) time should coincide) then you can get a credit on the billed amount pro-rated.
Note, that you need to reach out to account team via IVR and not technical support.
This works as I had to do this almost every month.

If you service was down for more than 8 days and continues to remain down and you have requested for a disconnection then they provide with a 15 days credit.

@Lolita_Magnum Bahut muskil hai ye 15 days waiver.
Most of the time, they will say your account Credit Balance is exhausted, cannot provide the waiver, and ask you to connect next month after bill generation.

From Feb to June, I was credited consecutively every month.
While this might sound good, it is not. Because that means, I have had poor service from Airtel filled with internet disruptions though.

@rohitks you can try gazon fiber if it is available in your building. They are all over PCMC and mostly operate on the LCO model. Their plans are pretty affordable.

Of Jio, I have to accept it's significant improvements over the past few months. The only con left now is bufferbloating.
Rest there have been reduction in latencies, at par with Airtel now.
