My name is Akil.. I am from Chennai.I dont know much about 3G.I got a free student's 3G Gift Pack. Is it possible to convert my 3G gift Pack simcard to 3G Data Card Sim? Also, Someone please tell me the downloading rate of 4200 Unlimited 3G data plan....Thanks In Advance!!!

Yes, you can use the same SIM in data card after recharging with 4200 INR. Speed will depend on lot of factors. Average speed is around 1-1.5 Mbps.

HI akil,Before recharging check weather you get proper signal strength at location where you are going to you your 3G data card.. so you can have weather to recharge with big amount of Rs 4200....for information if any body using data card plz set manual mode in 3G not in automatic and use UMTS mode in network setting

OP wants to know if he can use the same sim card in any USB modem.The answer is Yes, you can use any BSNL 3G sim card in a unlocked modem.

For your question, if you use an 3.6MBps 3G modem you will get as close as 2.2MBps maximum depending on service.
If you use 7.2MBps or faster 3G modem, you are going to get 4MBps approx.
Download rate depended on download server and quality of network you get.
