Please suggest an inkjet printer within a budget of 1.2-2k for printing only with print yield.

Can anyone please suggest an inkjet printer within a budget of 1.2-2k for printing only with print yield for my father. I mean he only wants to print - no scanner etc. required.

However, one cartridge should give at least 150+ black and white printouts and good number of colour printouts.

HP deskjet 2540 inkjet series, it's pretty good and economy black settings one gives, 200 plus prints.

Color ink drys up fast though in 1st year. Balck ink easily last 2-3 yrs. Stay away from Canon.

i have a cheapo ricoh laser bw printer (Ricoh SP111) and HP 5275. also have one of the older models HP 3545.

if you want to save money check if those auto reset after market cartridges are available for your printer.

if color was not required, a cheapo laser would have been perfect. initial cost is a bit more but much cheaper in long run.
