I have a sify 400 mb 256 kbps connection.I have a friend with unlimited sify connection and he does not use it at night.He has given me his id and pass but i cant log in with that.I get an error msg regardin mac id and ip address.We live in the same apartment.Can anyone pls Help me.I am DESPERATE.

go to him note his ip add. dns servers gateway and all..copy them into ur network connections--tcp ip add..change them and in half and hour use that id and password..will work

Every Lan card has a unique mac id. Most probably the sify account of ur friend is bound to the mac id of his lan card. U cannot use it from ur Lan card unless u change its MAC id to match that of ur friend.U can use progs like amac address changer to try and change ur MAc id.
