Hi,I was looking for the solution to the same problem but could not find the answer post. Please do post.-vishal garg

Simply configure your modem in PPPoE mode. Ubuntu will automatically detect internet on LAN. Worked for me using Ubuntu Live CD. Mention modem - model and make. Will try to find a PPPoE configuration for your modem.

@meetdilip : thnx, I'll try to do that and post again if the problem remains!!!!
