Thanks Ajuravi for starting this thread asking for suggetsion to eliminate fake id menace . following is the my views on the topic. 1) WE CAN HAVE CERTAIN NUMBER OF ID FROM ONE IP ADDRESS 2) WE SHOULD NOT ALLOW POSTING OF THREAD TILL THE ID PERSON HAS NOT POST CERTAIN NUMBER OF REPLIES AND POST. 3)THERE SHOULD BE SOME SCORE WHICH MUST RESULT IN SOME INCREASE IN TOTAL WEIGHTAGE OF PERSON. IF SOME ONE POST OFFENCSIVE TEXT THEN HIS SCORE SHOULD BE DECREASED HOPE FAKE ID CAN COME ENDDDDDDDDDDDD
 
Only solution looks like could be admin has to block based on IP addr if possible. Otherwise we'll have to keep ignoring those messages from the new cloned ones.
 
my idea is to moderate the thread/topic posted by member. i mean the thread/post will be seen only if approved by moderator

1) may be we all stop posting craps, talking arrogantly and
2)start to talk with other members more politely.

More over most of the members are against we three namely myself, you & hitman. Few others like gregory stir up things at regular intervals which irritates others. You could see that we fought with almost all of the members in the dth section. Aju you used bad words, I succefully banned amtan & Hitler. Tried to ban Vivek but now I think he will be happy to join hands with us.

3) It is time for us to reform ourselves rather than advising the Admin.
4) Admin knows his job what to do. This id isn't that great. It was created just for fun and now everyone knows my original id ie.asdfgf. Followed your foot steps Aju.

I will start to post from my original id once I go home.
 
1. Look at the post count of person posting.2. Look at his rep power.These will prevent basic impersonation. Again don't converse and reply to trolls without checking the above two points.
 
For registering to forum, we need to submit our email ID's, and hence I guess everybody's email ID's are their in database, by this ADMIN can recognise the email ID of the person creating trouble and ban/blacklist the email ID, so no one can create new/fake user ID with same email IDAlso new ID's can be allowed only after receiving confirmation from genuine email ID (I guess it is currently implemented)
 
New IDs are always validated with the mail IDs. Banning a mail ID for registration won't help because the same person can create new mail ID as well.
 
The one email id one profile idea is a good one. But trolls are so persistent that they won't mind creating another gmail or hotmail id. Just see his persistence and the amount of damage he has done in a single day. There are at least 50 posts dealing with this subject today itself in this forum. The nut case has also gone and posted rubbish in the Dish Tv forums.Further, banning an ip is feasible only if it is a static one. The only thing in our control is properly identify who we are replying to and if it is a suspicious character, report the post to the moderators. The id will then be banned. So the troll will have to start over at zero every day.A daily post limit for new members will help in preventing trolls from going on a rampage. But that is a decision which has to be taken after careful consideration.
