Private DNS problem on Airtel mobile network on Androids

so the phone refuses to connect on private dns on airtel mobile today. out of the blue. tried everything. would get a new sim tomorrow and see if that helps. this is going to be annoying.

airtel's stupid sign into network message appears as soon as i disconnect wifi. this usually happens when i have run out of data which i have not. plus telegram works so internet is definitely working. the things routing through private dns are dead.

So it happened again today. Got a new sim. Dekhe if it happens on it as well. Realme and Moto phones on airtel at home are not having private dns problems on airtel cellular.

Still on old Sim and just like yesterday it started working at night

looks like this is going to be a permanent problem. turned on private dns inside chrome. it does not solve the problem because this only fixes it for browser. but is good enough workaround for me.

If you encounter the problem again, try to pop your Sim into some other phone to test.
