Hi friends. I am from Jaipur. I purchased Nvidia 8600GT (256 MB DDR3) graphics card on 29th Nov 2007. before few days when i started my PC i heard a small blast sound in my Cabinet i immediately shutdown my pc and start looking inside my cabinet, i found one of the capacitor of graphics card busted open from the top. i start my pc, just to check if my card is working or not, its working. But to be safe i took it to Nvidia authorized service center (Rashi peripherals). when i told him that my card is still working, he started to telling me that this capacitor has no use, you can still use it, other person tells me that we can't take card in working condition, we only take card which is not working. then i told him if this capacitor is of no use then why nvidia planted it on card, why they spend money on it if its no use.I told him that i need it repaired or replaced. after little argument they agreed to take it but he told me that it will take 30 days to repair or replace (if it can't be repaired). My question is that is the above behavior is good for them.don't you think 30 days is little more time to get repaired from bombay.

2 months and i am still waiting to get replacement RAM from Transcend. The wait was so long that i decided to go for a new motherboard, processor and RAM. you cannot do much about it. there are few companies in india that would replace a defective component in a matter of days. and you are talking about a model which is probably out of production. :)

if its out of production then they will give me next higher graphics card. (as service center person said to me). one of my friend replaced his DVD writer and he get the new one because his writer is out of production

today i got a call from rashi. they told me that my card has been replaced. tomorrow i will bring it and reply whats replaced!!!

irrelevant reply but waiting for replacements of a 250 gb seagate hdd and a 80 gb samsung hdd since past 20 days.. both died at the same time :( on a spare 40 gb hdd now hahahha grrr..

hehe. are you sure your power supply is not the culprit? my both RAM chips died the same day but i believe it was largely because of static electricity from my hands. :D

rigbiostar ta790gxbecpu amd 7850 kuma betranscend 4 gb ddr2 @ 800 mhz running in dual channel4670 gddr3 512 mb gpuPSU - some local cheap crap 400 watts hehehehe u knew it right away haha but i dont think its psu it has been handling my hardware well but the hdds seem to have died from frequent electricity cuts hyd was having a month ago.. God u dont want to know.. u put something for download, power cut, u try to involve urself in some other stuff, powers back, put something for download power cut lol.. i dont have a ups have to buy quick i dont want my expensive mobo roasted :S

well i would suggest investing in a good quality PSU if you do not want to lose your data on a regular basis.

or maybe they could have died from the heat.. hyd was hitting 45 degrees minimum daily during day time till a few days ago.. and even after having the side of my case open and a rear exhaust, my cpu's temp on idle with quiet and cool disabled was around 40 degrees :S and on load when playing games and stuff was hitting 55 degrees :S had to switch to quiet and cool and sacrifice half of my cpu's power to be on the safer side till the monsoons are here.. now its at 30 degrees

am eyeing this one

Cooler Master - Ultimate provider of Computer Chassis | Cooler | Power Supply

its around 3.5 k

so you are on an AMD too. my AMD processors reaches 55C during video encoding. i do not think 55 is a high enough temperature to kill the hardware. i remember my Dell... it used to touch 90C... was pretty bad. but no damage till now.
