Hi guys:I know this is a Linux forum but I want to ask one question that is not directly related to Linux. Most sites, especially banking and stock-broker's online trading sites, state that their site is best viewed using IE (MS Internet Explorer) version X.Y.I know that the IE browser is not available for Linux so how does a 100% Linux user access these sites. From my, personal experience, the ICICI-Prudential Mutual Fund site requires IE with Active X enabled. From all I've read, Active X is a security problem. The Axis Bank site also works with IE and with Firefox but not with Opera or Apple's Safari 3.1 for Windows. The Bombay Stock Exchange has a My BSE link that works differently with IE versus other browsers.I request Linux users to shed some light on how they use these web-sites.

well. i have had long arguments with icici bank people on how they used to make their sites IE only. its a shame. most of them are now supporting firefox... but when activex is required you have no option but to run IE through Wine or virtualization.

Hi guys:
I request Linux users to shed some light on how they use these web-sites.

It is because of poor awareness or deliberately pushing people towards one corner as if there is no option available in this world  US people don't accept such crap, fight such things legally easily here. I think Indians must file cases against such erratic and arrogant organizations and institutions who are *not* customer centric! There is no other option left. Or get out of such business houses, make sure you escalate a strong protest to the highest authority if you can :)

Yep, is4linux is a better choice because of the underlying wine emulator. You can use IE 6.x without any problem. If you have FC8 just follow this

Good Luck
