Friends I have purchased a 3g in sikkim, as 3g was launched in sikkim from Aug15 this year (2009) and i have also purchased micromax modem for accessing my 3g connectivity in my computer.. but there is a problem i am able to get 2g (gprs) connectivity and it is soooooo slow... slower than any slow connection can be.. and when i change the mode to 3g it shows network but does not connect and says connection failed, try later and it does not connect and has not connected to 3g since i purchased.. the bsnl people simply says. there must be some configuration fault.. but they are not advising the right configuration.. they say they don't know..they`ll call the customer care and than inform me...now just imagine..

now what should i do.. i have tried setting apn to gprseast.cellone.in, if there is any changes to be made or if there are any new updates in the configuration please let me know. as i have no alternative than to resort to you guys...

Hi amlan baidya I have tried using this apn earlier also... but it simply does not work in computer.. i am using micromax (MMX 300G) data card but with it i am able to connect to 2g but not 3g.. and interesting thing is that it is working in Mobile.. but not in computers. I just cannot figure it out where the problem lies...

Same problem here.Works in mobile with APN "bsnlnet", but doesn't work in PC when connected through PC Suite or bluetooth.Anyone have any solutions.

Friends.. last time a person (engineer) from micromax had come up with the solution.. he said that the problem was due to my antivirus setting.. and i needed to add the dialing number in my properties of the antivirus.. since people use several antiviruses so the configuration is different for different antivirus .. but this problem is arising in pc due to antivirus... and i changed my settings and it is working fine in the apn "bsnlnet"... but still i am not getting the desired speed.. for which he said that it depends upon the bsnl.. in some places where there is good network we can get much faster speed while in some places.. the speed deteriorates as per the network there... so somehow the problem of connectivity seems to have resolved..

Thanks for the info.As for your speed problem, you can try checking the speed in different places using a laptop.Speed differs with different places/locations is what I have found.

Sorry To break it to you, But i Highly doubt that the computer card you are using supports 3G and therefore you are able to connect only to 2g:o

Hope you don't mind, but I have another question. Will the micromax data card work with other operators sim.For example, can it connect through Reliance's CDMA 1x network.
