Hello Friends,Now that we need to go for DTH, I would be helpful if someone can answer my queries:-1. For multiroom connection, will single dish be installed for all tvs, and will the dish be connected by wires to all set top boxes ? aren't set top boxes wireless?2. If i opt for local cablewala set top box, still will he give a dish antenna or just connect thro existing wiring?3. How can I recharge lets say dish tv/videocon etc? Is it on monthly basis...can I pay exact amount for my pack or is it a different amount? Thanks for the help ...Dev...

it might be possible to connect multiple tvs from a single dish. but it depends upon how far the television sets are. all the televisions are connected to STBs which are connected by wire to the dish antenna. local cable guy would offer you CAS and not DTH. CAS might end up being a better choice depending upon the deal your dealer might have for you. you can recharge online or through shops in your locality. you get discounts on charging for longer duration (2 months free on 12 months). though these companies keeps on changing their policies which means that sticking on a long term plan might not be that good of an idea.

ok, so you mean CAS won't have hassles of having a dish antenna? my local guy charges 3000 annually currently and i run 3 tvs without paying extra...now he said 1500rs per set top box and 3000 advance for annual...for multi room he said awaiting some directives from govt for charging....but not decided might be around 100-125rs max...my concern is outflow of 7500 right now...if i opt for dth i will pay only 4500 for 3 boxes and then monthly basis...so right now in a confused state...but i also want to avoid hassles of wiring to all tvs from dish antenna...in that case CAS will score as wiring is already there... I guess they might use the same wire...

both cas and dth are wired. dth would connect your tv to the stb that connects to the dish. cas would connect your tv to the stb to the cable guy's wire.compare the costing of running dth on multiple television sets. it is likely to come out higher. you need to first research if there are dth plans that suits your need. and then see how much they would cost per month. and then compare it with cas. i can safely say that cas should come out to be cheaper. also. i am sure your cable guy would accept monthly payments as well :\
