Hope I'm not jacking this thread but I also have a query to new BSNL BB connections and also went through this section of the forum and am posting now.Like if I want BB from BSNL then is it a must to have telephone line?Cuz I think I don't want their LL and in my region not many ppl use wired landline, more/most use wireless ones so will the cost of setting up the wire till my place be burdened on me?

Choose a combo plan, by that way you need not pay land line rent.

Combo plan?Could you give me an example/link of it to BSNL website(url's fine ) with Unlimited usage?Also do they ask for any documents,if yes then what docs exactly? and they only take 1 months charges in advance,router/modem charges right?Will they give receipt or something acknowledging that they have taken 1 month's advance rental and modem/routers cost too?Is it ok to take their router/modem or getting them from other places will be better?

Browse the website. Address proof + ID proofYes, you do need to pay a month's rent in advance + installation charges. Their modems are fine, but I'd suggest buying a wifi router from elsewhere if you need one .You will be given a receipt.

BBG Combo ULD 850 sounds goot cuz I get 8 gb at 2 mbps and post it 512 kbps so that's about enough for me I think but i still don't know what their combo means .Which modem/router with wifi capability do you suggest which is cheap and has output of the above mentioned plan or even better as I don't want it to become useless in the near future.ty for taking out your time to reply to all my queries.

Check website and see if there is land line rent mentioned in the list. All those plans are not combo plans. Buy any good model from D-Link, ask the shop keeper for a decent model which works with BSNL.

oh kk.Any idea about Wimax from BSNL.Like how it compares to Broadband from BSNL? Cuz I'm thinking since it's 4G tech it's probably better than BB

I don't know?But am near b'lore and in B'lore it's there I think and it's wireless and somewhat like a dongle type of system(pardon me for my less knowledge) right and has a big radius which it can cover through towers so it may be present in my region.Please do compare so atleast I'll have knowledge of it.
