SBI levied a debit card fee on my savings account. The interesting observation is that the I don't have an active debit card for this account for well over half a decade.

^ Hmmm. Is it possible to have a savings account and not have an active debit card connected to it? I have 3-4 bank accounts and dont need all these debit cards so would love to disable 2 of them.

I've a savings account without any debit card for over 5-7 years. So yeah, it is possible. Why wouldn't it be.

@Samuel send an email to sbi.01111@sbi.co.in where 01111 is the last 5 digits of the IFSC code. Mention you have been charged for the card. After 7 days, email your local head office, email can be obtained from sbi website. Then, lodge an online complaint with RBI banking ombudsman after 30 days.

Yeah yeah, that's not the problem. I got it reversed. What became a pain is unexpected unauthorised registration for insurance. Thankfully it didn't auto renew this year.

I think it's possible to link one debit card with 2 or 3 accounts in SBI. I can see that on the online site portal
